Supporting Reforestation in Iceland
Since 2019, Go Campers customers have contributed to Iceland’s reforestation efforts by offsetting their CO₂ emissions through Kolviður. Together, we have raised €5,250 to help plant trees and restore natural landscapes, making a lasting impact on Iceland’s environment.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Go Campers, we believe in responsible travel and are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact. Alongside our tree-planting initiative, we’ve taken significant steps to make our operations more sustainable. Our managers drive electric cars, and our airport shuttle is fully electric, helping to lower emissions and promote a greener way to explore Iceland. We also take recycling seriously, ensuring that waste is properly sorted and disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way.
In addition, we have cut our paper use by 90% over the last two years by switching to digital signatures during pick-up, eliminating the need for unnecessary printed documents. Every euro donated through our initiative goes directly to Kolviður, Iceland’s leading reforestation fund, helping to restore the country’s forests and protect its unique landscapes for future generations. We are committed to making sustainable travel easier for our customers—because exploring Iceland should be unforgettable, not unsustainable.
The Sharing Center
At Go Campers, we’re committed to reducing waste and making travel more sustainable. That’s why we created the Sharing Center—a simple way for travelers to pass on leftover food to fellow campers.
Many customers end their trips with perfectly good food that often comes in larger portions than needed for a short camping adventure. Instead of letting it go to waste, they can leave it at our office for others to use. This initiative not only helps reduce unnecessary waste but also allows new travelers to save money and make the most of their journey.

How You Can Contribute
Iceland’s landscapes may be powerful, but they are also fragile. As travelers, we all have a role to play in preserving the country's natural beauty for generations to come. Iceland is one of the world’s most sustainable destinations, generating 85% of its energy from renewable sources and ranking among the least polluted countries. However, the rapid growth of tourism has increased its environmental impact, making responsible travel more important than ever.
To support sustainability, we offer our customers the option to contribute to our reforestation initiative by donating €1 per day for smaller campers and €2 per day for larger campers. Every small contribution adds up to make a big difference in protecting Iceland’s nature.
